Deepest sympathy to Marissa and Vincent, and to Sheryl and Rob. I had the pleasure of visiting with Sheryl and Rob on a Christmas trip 2024 home to Papamoa NZ. I know how much Grant was loved by his Mum and Dad and am deeply saddened by their sudden loss. Thinking of you all. Janet Anderson. Sister of Shirley.

Some people are described as "marmite"-you either love them or you don´t. Grant wore that label with a kind of pride, and those of us who loved him really loved him. For us, there was no in-between. We saw the full force of his character: sharp-witted, fiercely passionate, deeply intelligent, and, above all, real.
Grant wasn´t just clever-he was one of the most brilliant technical minds I´ve ever met. He could dissect the complex with ease, challenge conventional thinking without fear, and somehow teach you something important every time he opened his mouth. He was an educator not just by profession, but by nature. He made you think, whether you were ready or not.
But his brilliance was only part of the story. He cared. Deeply. About people, about doing things right, and about making a difference. He held strong opinions, but they were never lazy ones. And beneath that exterior was a man of great loyalty, humour, and heart.
I´ll never forget the time he sent me chocolate all the way from New Zealand-just because he wanted me to try something he loved. That was Grant in a nutshell: always wanting to share good things with the people he cared about. Whether it was a new idea, a hard truth, or a bar of chocolate, he gave generously and with intention.
To those who never had the chance to know him properly: you missed out. You missed out on someone unforgettable.
To those of us lucky enough to have known him -we´ll carry his memory forward with affection, admiration, and no small amount of awe.
Rest well, Grant. You were one of the best.

A man with a huge heart and an easy smile. I treasured our wide ranging chats over a long lunch. You've left a super legacy, and I'll see you on the other side.
Much love from the Cook Islands.

Condolences to Marissa, Vincent and family. In the short time I knew Grant I have been nothing but inspired by him, his outlook and attitude. I hope it brings you comfort to see how many people Grant has left lasting impressions with.
