Gordon Thornton:
On Saturday, 22 November 2014, aged 85 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Maureen (nee Smith). Loved father and father-in-law of Sandi and Mark Mulholland (Arrowtown), Julie and John Jones (Alexandra), and the late Floyd Roscoe. Beloved granddad of Saffron Mulholland and Chris Newman (Arrowtown), Regan Caldwell, Marcus Mulholland and Sarah Ray (Queenstown), Trent Roscoe, Grace Roscoe and Campbell Squires (Invercargill), and Kate Roscoe (Dunedin). Loved grandpoppa of Shyla, and Kobe Mulholland (Queenstown). Loved and respected brother, brother-in-law, and uncle Gordon of the Skeoch, Smith, Strang and Kirkbright families. In accordance with Gordon's wishes, a private service was held on Monday. Messages to 50 Essex Avenue, Butel Park, Arrowtown.

My condolences to uncle Gordon's family.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Gordon. The last time we meet up was at the Skeoch Reunion in 2011.
Since then especially after my mother Jean Eccersall passed away I would ring Gordon every now and then and catch up with him.He was always cheerfull but you could read between the lines that all was not well.
Gordon was a tower of strength for mum,they would spend ages on the phone every week chatting away.
A lovely uncle who will be missed by all.
Another link with the past now gone.
