Died peacefully at the Maniototo Hospital on July 1, 2024, aged 88 years. Loved husband of Angela. Loved father and father-in-law of Rosemary and Mark Pettit, Phil and Jo, Andrew and Amanda, Maria and Chris O'Reilly, Brendan and Katherine, and Geraldine and Johnny Duncan. Grandfather of Henry and Isobel; Bailey and Maggie; Ellie, Thomas and Bella; Katherine, James, Mark, Tim and Liam; Bridget, Kate, Hannah and Hamish; Billy and Stella; Briar, Jock and Toby; and great-grandfather of Leif. Son of William* and Mamie* (Naseby), brother and brother-in-law of Mary* and Harry*, Br Bill, Mike and Joan, Ray* and Bev*, Laurie* and Denise and Graeme; Tony and Heff, Rosemary and Matt, Pauline and Tim and Vince and Faye. Rosary will be held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2 Stuart Road, Ranfurly, at 4.45pm, on Sunday, July 7. Requiem Mass to celebrate Gerald's life will be held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, at 1.00pm on Monday, July 8, followed by interment in the Ranfurly Cemetery.
