Peacefully, after a short illness, in the wonderful care of the Southland Hospice staff. Loved husband of the late Nancy (for 66 years). Loved father and father-in-law of Karen Piercy and Mark Way, (Christchurch), Kerri and Grant de Ruyter (Rotorua), Robyn and Lenard McLeod (Invercargill). Loved grandfather of Baylie de Ruyter and Luke Layland (Rotorua), Brandon Blomfield and Kelly Lumsden (Perth), Nathan Blomfield and Courtney Rose (Christchurch), Grayson McLeod, Tarryn-Mae McLeod and Daniel Kent, Kendrah McLeod and Chris Callahan. Loved great-grandfather of Jacob and Asha, Oscar, Alex and Talia, Savannah and Tobias. Eldest son of Bert and Clara Piercy, brother of Bob Piercy (deceased), brother-in-law and uncle. In his 96th year. In accordance with Geoff's wishes, a private service has been held. Messages to 638 Tay Street, Invercargill, 9810.

Sorry to read that Geoff as passed on . I had very high respect towards Geoff when he was an Invercargill City Councillor in the good old days . When i delivered his Agendas he and Nancy would make me feel welcome and stopped for a chat ,and when i was employed to work at a Council function it was Geoff who would make sure i got feed and would have a plate for me which was appreciated . One of the best so Geoff RIP
