NICHOLSON, Ernest Cecil (Ernie):
Peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Rowena Jackson, Invercargill. Aged 81 years. Finally at rest with his beloved wife Helen*. Much loved father and father-in-law of Malcolm and Fiona Nicholson (Christchurch), Judith and Simon Horrell (Alexandra), Karen and Mark Gargiulo, Susan and Mathew Brown. Loved grandfather of Chris, David, Brittany, Scott, Brendon, Callum, Laura, Zac, Thomas and Nicole, and a beloved great-grandfather. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Clara* and Jim* Penney, William* Nicholson, Anne* and Peter Ellis, Lynn and David Brown. Loved Uncle Ernie to many. A service to celebrate Ernie's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Pomona Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, commencing at 1.30pm. Due to Covid restrictions attendance is limited to 100 people and will be by invitation. Please contact the family if you wish to attend. Vaccine passes are required for those attending. Ernie's service will be livestreamed and a link is available on his tribute page at frasersfunerals.co.nz/tributes where personal messages may also be left. Messages to 45 Oreti St, Invercargill.

Cousin Ernie and I were in the same class at Okaihau College. I also remember going to stay with Aunty Edie as a child. Always friendly and happy. Kerry and I called in at an address we had for him a couple of years ago but unfortunately he had shifted and we missed being able to visit. Our sympathy to the family.
