ELVA AUDREY ZEHR (nee Shantz) 1931-2022 Elva Audrey Zehr (nee Shantz) born February 17, 1931 in New Hamburg, Ontario, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital. Loving wife of the late Lester Wayne Zehr (2018); and beloved mother of her three children, the late Brenda Eudoxie (2021) and her husband, the late Peter Eudoxie (2022), Donald (Tracey) Zehr and Gregory (Cassandra) Zehr. Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Paul) Frayne, Lauren Eudoxie (Rorey La Puente), Zac (Cheryl) Zehr, JD (Georgina) Zehr, Colton (Abbey) Zehr, Calvin Zehr and Mitchell Zehr. Great-grandmother of Liam, Hudson, Harper, Taylor, Madison, Zoe, Nico and Sutton and cherished friend to many. Our dear Nana loved her family more than anything. Her dedication to family and friends was evident daily as she never seemed to tire of spoiling everyone with her delicious cooking and baking. We will cherish the many memories of Nana patiently teaching the next generations how to make her Dutch apple pie and turkey dressing, carefully cultivating the many flowers in her beautiful gardens and creating a welcoming home for many. Elva's quiet, sincere nature put everyone in her presence instantly at ease. She was a beautiful person and we are all better people for having known her, having loved her and having been loved by her. We are very fortunate to have had a role model who lived each day with humility, compassion and grace. Cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate Elva's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Grand River Hospital Foundation, Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Mennonite Central Committee (Ontario) or a favourite charity.
