I worked with Libby on Tongoa, Vanuatu during 1971 and the first half of 1972. I was employed by the Service de L'Agriculture. I was 22 and Libby was 30. She was a saint and worked tirelessly at the Silimuri in Lumbuki serving the community on Tongoa.I lived.at Ngpangasale close to her sister and brother in law. She was a god send as far as I was concrrned and had frequent meals at her Siliguri bungalow. She was anbeccellemt driver in her Landrover and could deal with some of the most treacherous treacherous roads on Tongoa confidently. Libby was a passionate and slightly flirtatious young lady who was very considerate of others. I tember working hard with Libby after the cyclone in Marck 1982.to get the clnic up and running again. I manahed to bleed the 1950s Lister disel engine and get it working, and aftera prayer by Libby it started nd the electricity was restored
We reconnected the overhead cables and the buildings had lights. I had to.leave Tongoa a few weeks later, but.retirned later for her Wedding to Bernard Smith. The weddinh was like a scene from a Hollywood movie.....unbelivable, and would put a Royal wedding into the shade.
I.learned about Libbys death by googling her with a view to contacting her.i was devasted to hear of her death.
Libby, lots of love.from Bernard R. Great memories of you on Tongoa beach and Lamen Island.

I have known Libby for a number of years. She was a great friend and helped me when I needed it most. Sadly could not attend her farewell service. but she will live in my memory always. Now forever no more pain and sorrow, rest in peace Libby.

My apologies, I won't be able to attend in person today due to being unwell but will join virtually.Libby was great friend to me. We first met at the women's group she led at the Invercargill First Church over 30 years ago and since then we have been in touch and visited each other regularly. We would still talk at least once a fortnight up until she passed. I will miss her support advice and kindness greatly. My love and condolences to all her family. Sellou and family.

What a great 2 years we had when we were in Dunedin. Then from wherever we were when we got together it was like just picking up again and going on. Thanks for the opportunities we shared through your wisdom and friendship.
