My thoughts are with Liz“s family and friends. My experiences with Liz as a childrens librarian working after school, questers book club, working on Childrens Holiday programmes and letting me use The Sheling as a study space, have stayed with me all my life. Now as a teacher I remember her valuable lessons and guidance and am truly thankful that she came into my life.

I had the pleasure of spending more one on one time with you Liz more recently when you popped into KMart for special wee dog treats.
We shared some giggles and I really appreciated your complimenting me on my customer service. That meant the world coming for such an astute woman whom I admired immensely.
There was always such a buzz in the store when the younger staff realised you were in store, and the message would circulate Oh Dreamweavers here.......come and say Hi - you still had such an influence on your now 20 to 35 year old children'

Dear Liz, you will be so missed. My first position after leaving school was under her careful tutelage In the children's library mastering the Dewey decimal system! - she was a lovely friend a great actress and loved children. Our Southland schools were so lucky to have her always so available she has installed the love of reading into so many young lives.

What a wonderful celebration these messages are of a life well lived, and of lives influenced by the wonderful Liz Miller. Liz was such a vital part of the Invercargill community.on the radio, in the Library, in schools, the St Peters Methodist church and then the Quaker community and so on. She was all over city with her beloved dogs telling her stories . So much talent, so much caring, such a giving person.
Our children and later our Grandchildren fondly remember her during our Invercargill days(1977-1982), and then the years since through her phone calls and visits to stay with us in Auckland.
About a week before she died she sent us an email saying "I have you in my heart but haven't been able to ring...but love and butterflies are easily sent on the wind".
Thank you Liz, may you too in some way now feel the same from us and the many people who loved and were inspired by you

Our family will miss you Liz especially mum (Marie Dingemanse). You have been a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. I remember your various dogs over the years and the walks we took and staying at your house when we came south. I remember your bare feet - how large they grew. I remember your stories oh so well and your wonderful voice and energy. Go well in the dream world beyond and may your adventures continue there just as colourfully as they did here on earth. Lots of love Anne-Marie Dixon(Rose)

Rarely does one encounter someone as uniquely driven and gifted as Liz.She unfailingly promoted her belief in the power of language, centred around stories,to inspire, uplift and encourage countless others-and not only children. The effects of her vision extended far beyond the shores of New Zealand, for dreams are woven with no reference to man made boundaries.A good friend has passed from this earth;those who are left are richer and privileged for having known and worked with her. I remember with great happiness the times we spent at the Chidrens library on a Saturday afternoon. We had free rein, surrounded by the books you loved so much while you worked in your office. You have bought so much joy to so many. RIP Aunty Liz.

My condolences to the Miller family.
I remember Elizabeth from my childhood in Invercargill at the library reading us wonderful stories and as the daughter of my fathers close friend Fred Miller. My father Jack McClenaghan and Fred worked together on the Southland News and were life long friends.
As a child I spent many happy times at the Miller house and always loved it when Elizabeth was there.
She was so kind and always made everyone feel special.
Elizabeth would have touched so many lives and I can remember Fred and Ngaire being so proud of her.
