Elaine Lundquist Obituary

Elaine Lundquist
September 14, 1931 - March 17, 2025
San Antonio - Elaine Ann (Hohengasser) Lundquist, 93, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born on September 14, 1931, in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and proud military veteran.
Elaine graduated from Green-field High School in 1949 and quickly joined the Air Force on a $5 bet. While in the Air Force Elaine met her future husband, Darrel Lundquist. After moving more than 20 times to more than 12 states and two foreign coun-tries, Elaine and her husband settled in San Antonio, Texas. Al-though not born in Texas, she was a Texan through and through and she loved her gospel music.
Elaine leaves a son, Mark Lundquist (Kimberly) of San An-tonio and daughter Linda Ale-man (Jake) of Austin, TX and four grandchildren; Christopher Aleman (Raven), Jennifer Ale-man, David Lundquist, and Ka-tiAnne Goforth (Brad). She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
Elaine was proceeded in death by her husband, Darrel Lund-quist; eldest son, Gary Lundquist; parents Emil and Mary (Schali) Hohengasser; as well as sisters Irmgard Petersante, Hilda DeJoy, Bertha Bourget, Gladys Rossmi-sel and Marguerite Yestramski; brothers Emil, Ernest and Her-bert Hohengasser.
A graveside service will be held at 10:15 am Monday, April 7, 2025, at Fort Sam Houston Na-tional Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine's name may be made to either the Disabled American Vet's Association or The Salvation Army, as she always remembered this organization for the help it provided her family when she was growing up.
