So sorry to read this. Eddie was the equivalent of my tutor teacher in my first year teaching at Tweedsmuir. Such a lovely, kind man, always patient and understanding with the students and a wonderful teacher. He taught me so much and was always available to share his advice and experience. A true gentleman. knowledge

I am deeply saddened that I can´t be with my family as we farewell Eddie. Eddie has been part of my life for over sixty years, as my brother-in-law and as my friend. He has always been a kind and caring man. A great husband to my sister Shirley and a great father and grandfather. After my sister died nearly 13 years ago I would ring Eddie every night at 7pm. It was our way of checking on each other.
I have a bad chest infection and am unable to attend today but rest assured I will be there in heart and spirit.
Farewell my friend. Rest in peace Eddie and my prayers and love are with Annette, Lockie, Louise, Phil and families.
With love and hugs,
Mona xxx

I had the privilege of working for Eddie at Clarendon School. He was such a kind and considerate man. His door was always open no matter who you were. His staff thought the world of him.
Condolences to all his family. Catherine Smith

Eddie a Gentleman at heart.
I was his secretary for 13 years, at Clarendon School, and I never heard him raise his voice even when dealing with naughty children. He was helpful, a supporter, and encourager to all staff and children. Thank you Eddie.
Sympathy to all Eddie's family at this sad time.

Eddie was one of lifes true gentlemen.

It was my privilege to work with him and his staff when I served on one of Clarendon schools support groups, maybe it was the PTA.

Condolences and best wishes to Eddie's family and friends
