Edward Allison Obituary
Edward H. Allison, 89, of Derry RDl (Hillside), died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, in Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1913, in Latrobe, the son of the late Homer H. and Irene L. Newingham Allison. Ed was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the European Theater during World War II, and was a retired employee from Torrance State Hospital. He was a member of VFW Post 444 of Derry, LaMonte Lodge 568 F&AM of Derry, Blairsville BPOE 406, Thomas B. Anderson American Legion Post 515 of Latrobe for 49 years, and the Kingston Vets and Sportsmen's Club 287. He was a fun-loving man with a great sense of humor. He had a talent for being able to fix anything. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Jane Sheppard Allison, on Nov. 17, 2002; a brother, Kenneth Allison; and a sister, Helen Brant. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy L. Allison and her husband, G. William Lammert, of Indiana, and Carole B. Allison of Monroeville and her fiance, Ken Meier of Manor; his son, James E. Allison, and his wife, Maria E., of Derry; his grandson, Stephen A. Allison; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Larry G. Dunn, officiating. Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry. VFW Post 444, Derry, will conduct services Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
