To Isobel, Erica, Noeline & Families, Deepest sympathy to you all, very sorry but unable to attend funeral, but will be thinking of you all at this sad time

We enjoyed reminiscing and celebrating Earle's life this morning in Christchurch. The Nunns and The Thompsons were next door neighbours in Forth Street and close neighbours when they moved across to Lorne Street. As children, we spent a lot of time together. Earle and I spent hours making boats to float in our creek, under the road from the neighbours opposite and in the river. We built great bike tracks on the riverbank, dammed parts of the river and built rafts - such a wonderful time together! On other occasions we built fires and cooked spuds and sausages. Lobster-catching behind the Pressy church, families holidaying together at Colac Bay, Riverton trips, bike rides, out and about whenever we could be. Thank you for your friendship, Earle, a friendship that has lasted a lifetime. Condolences, Noeline and Isobel, and thank you for sharing your 'little' brother.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Errol. He was a treasured friend of my mum and dad, Anne and Roddy. Thinking of you all in this sad time.

We are very sorry for your loss. Earl was a fantastic support to Rodney and I when my cousin David Sparrow passed, he helped us out and we will never forget his kindness he showed us. rest in peace Earl.

My sincere condolences to Earle's family. A good man gone, far too young. We go back a long way, to the time we were born just 3 days apart in Mataura. I will miss his birthday messages with his news and the news of old school friends. I'm standing next to Earle in the school photo. I'm the taller one, but Earle could always run faster than me. Good memories.
