Douglas HOWELL Obituary

On October 1, 2024, after a short illness; aged 76 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Karl and Donna, loved son of Isobel* and Elliott*, dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Joyce* and Rex, and Edna Cruikshank, friend of George Cruikshank, much loved uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a dearly loved father figure and friend to Debb. A Memorial Service to celebrate Doug's life will be held in Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel at 10.30am on Tuesday, October 8. Messages to the Howell Family c/- PO Box 183, Mosgiel 9053 (*denotes deceased).

Hey Doug(dad)...I'm writing this as if we were talking on the phone...and I have to start by saying I'm missing you so much...My own special memories of you I will forever hold tight and close to my heart,our phone calls I always looked forward to, especially when they'd last a few hours,we always found something to talk about,I loved when you shared your travel stories,and the connections you made with those you met.
I feel whole knowing that I got to share with you what you meant to me and vice versa,our last phone call I will forever cherish and hold tight.
I know now where I get my outdoor traits from,and getting my hands dirty.
You'll forever be "dad" to me.
I have two angels in heaven now watching over me...my girl Emma has her Poppa Doug again and having hockey pokey ice cream I bet.
My tears will fall till I see you both again.
You now walk through the fields of gold
My love and condolences I send to Edna and Karl and others that Doug had a connection with.
