Donnese BARRON Obituary

BARRON, Donnese
(ANDERSON, Dulcie Pearl):
Of Winton, Southland.
"He mihi aroha ki nga whanau o nga tupuna kua tua o te arai he mihi, he tangi ki a tatou. Kia koutou te whanau"
"Tena koutou, tena tatou katoa!"
My (our) dear mother Donnese passed peacefully from this life, on Thursday, May 18, 2023 - interestingly "Ascension Day" catholic calendar. Several family members, including grandsons and granddaughters were with you Mum before you departed. So thankful! The outpouring of love from family, carers and nurses was astounding and reflects the respect and love they have for you Mum, and the days/nights you shared with them. Now you have set off on the Journey of your life - sailing with the Captain and Lover of your very soul 'n spirit (heart)! Travel well! Thank you Mum, wife, Nana, great-Nana, auntie, sister, daughter, colleague, carer of so many children (besides your own) for all you gave us; your love, dedication, beauty, time, energy, laughter and play, skills and talents, and even fears, pain, tears, and sheer damned hard work! You taught me dogged determination and helped me to appreciate; family, celebrations, icecream 'n jelly sponge, animals-ducks, trees, flowers, hairstyles 'n stylish clothing, dancing, singing, Catholic Mass (faith), education, our Scottish ancestry, tartan, bagpipes and so much more!!! Sometimes I didn't understand you, nor you, me, still I love you and appreciate you, as my heart believes you loved us all deeply! You are missed and mourned by your husband of many years, Lindsay Charles Barron, your sons and daughters - the late Lindsay D.J. (husband of Diane), Donlyn, Sonyia, Fiona, Charles (Katyoun), Andrew (Marama) and Deborah F, and their own families and children. I honour and acknowledge you my dear, beloved Mama - thank you forever (Fi Pauline).
"Honour your father and mother as Yhwh, your God, has commanded, and you will live long and it will be well with you, in the land which Yahweh, your God, gives you."
- Deuteronomy 5:16 Holy Scripture (Christian Community).

To all the Barron Family: While I never met your mother, I met her loving daughter, Fiona. While I never met your mother, I felt I knew her through her loving daughter, Fiona. What a privilege to have had a glimpse into the life of your mother, your grandmother. To all members of the Barron family we are with you in your grieving. May the Peace of Christ descend upon you all. May His Light shine upon you all and May God in His Mercy grant her eternal Rest. Blessings, Fiona & Chris Mayhew, Auckland
