ESHPETER, Dennis Edward
July 27, 1950 – Killam, Alberta
September 26, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
Dennis Eshpeter, beloved husband of Nancy Eshpeter of Cochrane, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the age of 68 years, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dennis was born in Killam, AB and grew up on the family farm in Strome with his three brothers and two sisters. Music and laughter were always part of the Eshpeter family. He attended University of Alberta where he studied to be a chemical engineer and enjoyed playing trumpet in the school band. Upon graduation he took a job in Calgary, AB that eventually moved him to Sarnia, ON where he met his beautiful wife Nancy. They were blessed with three children. In 1990 Dennis was transferred with Nova Chemicals to Houston, TX, USA. Over the next six years he enjoyed good Tex-mex and new travel destinations while watching his kids grow up. 1996 brought him back to his home province of Alberta to Calgary where he finished his career and transitioned to enjoying his retirement years. Dennis always loved being around his family and friends. He had a quick laugh, an easy smile and a kind heart. Music remained a big part of his life. His favorite pastimes were golfing and curling with his great friends, which he was fortunate to enjoy throughout his younger years and into retirement. He loved taking pictures, travelling and making memories. To Dennis, family was everything. He was an amazing husband, Dad, and Papa who was taken from us much too early.
Besides his loving wife Nancy Eshpeter, Dennis is survived by his children, Laura Quinn (Mike), Brenda Marra (Vince), and Brian Eshpeter (Heather); grandchildren, Connor, Elizabeth and Ryan Quinn, Nicholas and Andrew Marra, and Liv and Dawson Eshpeter; brothers, Ken (Sharon), James (Susan) and Grant (Cathy) Eshpeter; sister Lenore (Norm) Rooke; and brother-in-law Mike Biehler.
Dennis was predeceased by parents Sylvia and Joseph Eshpeter and sister Karen Biehler.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cochrane, Alberta on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
