My memories of Don go back over 60 years when he and his twin, Ray were friends with my husband Allen. What great friends they were and obviously they had memorable good times together. Then Don fell in love with Dawn who was nursing in Ashburton and they became engaged and married at St Andrew's Church in Ashburton with Ray and Allen as attendants. I well remember the wedding and the building of your first house in Porter Street. You were a great couple and I sent my loving sympathy to you all for your loss but I have been enjoying the memories of over sixty years ago. Colleen Young with love.

Dear Dawn and family,
We are saddened to hear news of Don's passing.
We enjoyed our contact with you both when we were involved at St. Francis.
We remember Don with affection as a real gentleman, a loving husband and someone who loved sharing stories of your travels.
We send our condolences and best wishes to you all at this sad time and trust you will find the resources you need as you walk through the 'valley of shadows'.
We hope to join you at the memorial service to honour dear Don.
