Thomas (Des):
At Longwood Rest Home on 1 January 2017, much loved Husband of Ina. Loved father and father-in-law of Bevin and Helen, Michael, Kerry and Heather, Dale and the late Vicky, Desmond and Joanne, Maree and Kevin, Peter and Kerry. Loved grandad of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Special thank you to the staff at Longwood Retirement Home.
"Gone for the Milk"
A service to celebrate the life of Des will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox St Invercargill on Friday, 6 January at 1.00pm. The service will conclude with the interment at the Riverton Cemetery arriving approximately 2.30pm. Messages to 22 Murchie Street, Thornbury. In lieu of flowers donations to the Hospice would be kindly appreciated and may be left at the service.

Sad to see that another old truckie has hung up his boots. I first met Des about 19659. He was driving for Jimmy Dawson and I drove for Ray Howorth in Browns as well as a few other places subsequently. We always got on very well together and was a good bloke to meet. He was also a very efficient articulator driver.I remember him well. Rest in peace Des. Ted McCreath ex J.Hedley, Otautau.
