Peacefully at Southland Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Gloria. Loved father and father-in-law of Tony and Karla, Tracey, Karen and Phil Forde, Phil and Camille, Lyn and Robbie Bell, and Chris and Teneka. Dearly loved grandad and great grandad of all his grand and great grandchildren. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Ted* and Margaret Rooney, Margaret* and Rupert* Hyland, Marion* and Ted* Maloney, Philip* and Bernie Rooney, and Kathleen and Jim* Buckham, and brother-in-law of Albie Sands, Ivan* Sands, Ernie Sands, Elizabeth, Wayne and Lynette Sands. Loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank Medical Ward staff for their care of Mick.

A Requiem Mass will be held to celebrate Mick's life in the St Patrick Catholic Church, Rimu Street, Invercargill on Friday, July 11, at 1.00pm, the service will conclude with the interment at the Eastern Cemetery.
