Only heard of David's passing today.

I will always remember his no nonsense approach to life.
I knew where I stood with Dave, but always enjoyed talking with him about his stunning car.

I was in awe of his skills in making unobtainable parts including the crankshaft.

Condolences to all.

A brilliant Engineer laid to rest.
Having served my apprenticeship at H E Melhops during David's era there, I was inspired to learn and progress through his knowledge and help.
I was always impressed with his ability to get things done. His Beardmore car is a great example of his talent to rebuild components of this vintage. Wonderful memories. Condolences to the family. Regards Peter Penniall

Very sad to hear this week of the loss two of the pillars of the Carbon Team. I have fond memories of Dave and all those who mentored us as graduates some 28 years ago. I distinctly remember many peers offering support for a tricky situation through the conference room window. Say hello to Coops for us.

Greatly saddened to hear of Dave´s passing, he was the most creative, cunning, and dedicated engineer that I have had the pleasure of working with. Always a challenge to manage (in a positive way!) I relied heavily on Dave during my time at NZAS and he never let me down. My deepest condolences to Elizabeth and family.

I had coffee with Michelle Henderson this morning where she told me of David's passing. I thought the world of David and he was a very capable man. I too recall the beetroot sandwiches with David covered in carbon dust.

I will miss him.

Dear Elizabeth, Richard and Family. I am sorry to hear of the loss of David. He was an inspirational leader with a level head, broad skill base and can do attitude. As one of the 'three wise men' in Carbon Engineering he played a significant role improving the performance and reliability of the carbon plant and in my professional development. I can still picture him sitting at his desk eating his beetroot sandwiches. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.
