Dorothy Laskowski Obituary

Dorothy Anna Laskowski, 82, of Earleville, MD passed away peacefully after a short illness, falling into the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Louis Gieder and Margaret Alkins Kelly.

Dorothy was a beloved housewife and had been a former stenographer at Curtis Publishing Company. She enjoyed solving puzzles, immersing herself in books, and expressing her creativity through decorating and gardening. Dorothy was also a devoted member of Haven Community Church in North East, MD, where she found spiritual fulfillment and community.

Survivors include her sons, Frederick Laskowski, Bear, DE, Steven Laskowski, Earleville, MD, Michael Laskowski (Diane), Lester, PA, and Gregory Laskowski (Tina), Newark, DE; 5 grandchildren; and siblings, Louise Gamboa, Green Lane, PA, Lois Hoff, and Daniel Gieder, both of Essington, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Siegfried Laskowski; and siblings, Loretta Stanley, Patricia Gieder, and Louis Gieder.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, August 9, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
