David and I had a lunch group for lawyers in HK who had attended Waihopai Primary School in Invercargill. There were only 4 of us. Sadly missed.

My deepest condolences to PM and family. David was my first boss in HK and greatly helped in developing my career. (And who introduced me to a subsequent boss, PM!). I will cherish my fond memories of him.

Deepest condolences - David was always absolutely delightful company wherever and whenever we met - in Hong Kong, the UK and NZ. We fell out of touch over the years with travel in all sorts of directions but it was great to re-connect via email a couple of years ago. He still had the same warmth and joie de vivre despite his health battles. Such a sad loss for everyone who knew him but especially PM and the boys, he loved you so much. May he rest in peace to the sounds of the bush and running streams.

Saddened to hear of Davids passing.
I have many fond memories of our school and university years.
He seemed to have limitless energy and ability to balance his love of the outdoors with study and being a great friend to so many.
A remarkable and talented man who always seemed destined to achieve much in life.

I remember David as a newly minted lawyer in my then law firm Lane Neave Donaldson. He was enthusiastic and able. He also proved to be competent in many spheres of his adventurous life. Hopefully his vision will live on.

I only new David in the early years of his career as a bright and shining talent with a great future ahead of him. I was so sad to hear that his journey through life was cut so short.
With the battle all done and passed, may he now rest in eternal peace amidst the elysian fields.
Condolences to his family and to all those close to him.

I am a long long friend of Joan's and Garry's.. it is with a very sad heart I read of David's passing. He was so young and
enjoyed life to the fullest..
I feel for all the family as it is not so long since Joan left us.
I also miss her in my life a lot.
I spoke at length to David at Joan's funeral and we had
many laughs ...especially about Arthur's point crib..Joan and Gerry gave us the crib for
years when our 3 boys were young ( we are 70 s) and we did it up and just paid rates and electricity.
I loved sharing time with David and have met Stephen often at Joan's...thinking of you Stephen.)
I feel I know PM and have heard of William Francesca and Hugh as they have grown up.
Thoughts are with you all.
RIP David... "fishing in Heaven with Gerry"

To David's family, my sincere condolences. I remember David as a loyal, funny and very bright classmate at SBHS. Articulate and fun to be around, it came as no surprise that David achieved so much in life.

Very sad to hear that David is gone. I had a hell of a lot of fun with him at SBHS Invercargill and in Queenstown, Arthurs point and Coronet and only caught up with him last year at the Speights. I haven't met you PM or your boys but heard a lot from Jeremy and Tania over the years. My condolences to you and your family. The world is a better place for having had David in it .
