Peacefully passed away at Parata Rest Home, Gore, on Saturday, May 15, 2021, aged 88 years. Loved husband of the late Joyce for 65 years, loved father and father-in-law of Jocelyn and Barry McGowan (Prebbleton), Robin and Sherryl (Gore), Shona and Ian Forbes (Waimumu), Peter and Lyn (Gore), and loved Grandad and Great-Grandad of Jody and Sally, Remy, and Saffron (Melbourne), Shawn and Julianna, and Mila (Christchurch); Nigel and Sophie, Evelyn, and Ryan (Christchurch), Trudie and Reece, Toby, and Caleb (Gore); Steven and Deanna (Gore), Stacey and Duncan, and Arthur (Dunedin). Loved brother of *Doreen, *Elaine, Valerie, *Eleanor, Marilyn and families, and a loving Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. A service for Colin will be held in Southern Funeral Home Chapel, 106 Hokonui Drive, Gore, on Wednesday, May 19, at 1.30pm, then leaving for Charlton Park Cemetery. Colin and Joyce what a loving couple, Colin a great gardener, and Joyce the perfect housewife, Colin introduced Doug to Rum and Cloves, prob at the Mataura Fire Station, Colin inherited some asparagus plants I wanted, he rubbed t in for years how well they were growing and how they tasted. Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time. Doug and Gaye Grant.

Colin and Joyce were a lovely couple, he was a great gardener and Joyce was the perfect housewife. Colin introduced Doug to Rum and Cloves at the Mataura Fire Station, Colin inherited some asparagus plants that I was after, I was so jealous they grew every year like mushroom's. And he rubbed it in. Both were icon's in Mataura, but memories will live on. Our Deepest Sympathy to all the South Family at this sad time. Doug and Gaye Grant.
