Colin REID Obituary
On 25 October 2014, peacefully at Holmwood Hospital, Rangiora, after a short illness, aged 85 years. Loved husband of the late Ngaire. Loved father of Malachi. Loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Jeanette and Eric Fraser, Doreen and the late Alex Reid, the late Norman and Kathleen Reid, Isla and Richie Lindsay, Dorothy and the late Ron Hight, Marjorie and Gordon Kearton, Jack and Trudi Reid, and Edith Buchanan. For those wishing to, a single flower would be appreciated and may be placed on Colin's casket. A Celebration of Colin's life will be held at the Rangiora R.S.A. Club, 82 Victoria Street, Rangiora, on Wednesday, 29 October, at 11.00am.

Dad, you'll be remembered for your informed wit, black humour, strong opinions, passions for horse racing (trotting) and bowls, as well as for your general eccentricity.
In the words of your daughter-in-law Renate, you were a character straight out of a James Herriot novel. I want to thank you for being who you were, and raising me to be who I am today: we were world apart in thought, but brought closer for it.
For my part, you represent "home" and will be greatly missed. But you'll live on through our memory, and that of our wee man Morgan... who will always remember his "Grandpa".
