Colin BUNCE Obituary

8.10.1940 - 20.9.2025

Colin's Marilyn, wife of 59 years and 11 months, is very sad to announce the passing of Colin. Joined by family Alan and partner Michelle, Sandra and Gary, Raylene and Willy. Grandchildren Evie; Conor, Dylan; Brehna, Fynn; and great-grandchild Piper. His brothers and wives Graham and Judy, Peter and Sandra. In-laws Eric Adamson, Carole and Gavin Sinclair. Colin is now resting easy with memories of his years, motor racing at Teretonga etc, travelling the world for years in a motor home, throwing pétanque boules all round New Zealand, and of long holidays over many years at the Stewart Island crib with family. He was forever a storyteller and no better stories than of his 40 years as a Second-Hand Dealer at his "Bargain Corner" Yarrow Street, Invercargill. A memorial celebration of a life-loving Colin will be held in Alexandra District Club, 35 Centennial Ave, Alexandra, on Wednesday, October 1, at 2.00pm. Livestream available at www.centralotagofunerals.co.nz. Donations kindly accepted for St John and may be left at the service. Messages to 17 Walnut Grove, Alexandra 9320.

Marilyn and family, we are devastated to hear of the passing of Colin. He played a big part in our lives growing up on the track at Teretonga and our group gatherings with all the families together. There are some great stories between the Bunces and the Whitakers and I am sure Colin will be reminiscing on some of those stories with Ray and Carolyn up there now. Take care and lots of love Scott & Amanda, Marcus and Louise Whitaker.

I fondly remember the laughs at the CT club and the Thursday night euchre from the 20th century. For a second hand dealer he was extremely well read, perhaps Marilyn's influence. I am looking forward to the speeches from the livestream as I think that it will be a true celebration rather than a boring ceremony. (I'm looking at you, Charlie and Peter.) Best wishes to the family. RIP Colin.

Dearest Marilyn, I'm so sorry to hear today from my Mum of Colin's move to the next world. I have alot of fond memories of Colin and yourself, the CT club and buying ammo of Colin and Peter at Bargain corner. Dave Blain would understand. Graham (Charlie) and Judy, Peter and Sandra including Colin and Marilyn, you bought me tremendous amount of memories and I'm hugely respectful of those gestures, drinks and above all great evenings of delight and story's. You spent time at Riverton of Memory before moving and settling in beautiful Alexander. Blossom festival Country which we still to this day love. "Let the pool table tell the truth" Kindest Regards Dave

Dear Marilyn and Family
So sorry to read the sad news about Colin. Many memories come back. Especially the purchases at Bargain Corner, the telephone line across the gully at Stewart Island, and great days boating there. My condolences and best wishes to you all.
