Clara STANCOMBE Obituary

While sleeping peacefully, Clara passed away in Christchurch on March 21, 2024, in her 110th year. Devoted wife of Sydney H Stancombe*. Eldest daughter of James* and Mary* Williams. Sister of Mavis* and Mary*. Foster Mum to Ian and Barbara Lines (Christchurch), and Neil and Rosie Lines (Dunedin). Loved Aunty Clara to Edwina and family. Special friend of Lois. A service for Clara will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 61 King Street, Windsor, Invercargill on Thursday, March 28, at 11.00am. The funeral then leaving for the Tuatapere Cemetery. Aunty Clara requested in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Hospice Southland would be appreciated and may be left at her service. Messages to Stancombe Family, C/- PO Box 1380, Invercargill. (*denotes deceased)

In loving remembrance of Clara and condolences to her family. She and Mavis were faithful members of St George's Church Tuatapere, which is where I got to know them both. They showed kindness to our family, especially when I had my babies. The beautiful knitting I was given for each one of my 3 daughters was so appreciated - in fact I have never been able to pass these items on and still have them 40+ years later. RIP Clara

Condolences to Clara´s family & friends - Clara was a good friend of my Grandmothers - Helen Lorraine Frentz ("Bub") - Clara would call round to my Grandmothers in Invercargill in her wee car - they were both in their early/mid 90s & they´d head off for a "girls" lunch - it was the cutest thing
