My deepest sympathies go out to the Hewett's and there extended families. I have many fond memories of growing up in Mossburn where we all grew up, played up and partied hard.
I lost touch with Charles after his move to Australia and I only saw him a few times when he came over. I was actually quite surprised here of his passing up in Christchurch as I didn't realise he was back in NZ.

From a young Boy Charles show tendencies that would take him well into adulthood, as a school lad his welcome to the yard was lovely, then to work with him for eighteen months at the Deer works was a delight, cheerful, helpful and courteous to me and Ginger Mick he kept us two working easily, Thank you Charles for all the memories sorry not to have shared recent time with you but not to be. Condolences to the family in your loss of a special man, husband father and sibling.
