So saddened by this news. You were a very dear friend I met when you were in the Army in 1976. You introduced me to my husband, and the 3 of us had so much fun together. You were the unofficial Godfather of our daughter. Unofficial because se never actually got her baptised. For 10 years we were very close until I moved to Australia. But you have always held a special place in my heart and whenever we spoke we just picked up where we left off. Thank you Carl for the awesome memories. Thank you for sharing a special time in my life. Travel safe dear friend. Rest in the arms of your tipuna. Tino Arohanui xoxoxox

From the hilarious and fun filled times when we first met our cousins Carl and Geoff in Auckland, to staying with them in Perth in 1985 and beyond, Carl was always organised, immaculate, thoughtful and bloody good fun, a passionate soldier, boxer, businessman, father, brother and son. All our love to family and loved ones, such a sad day - Eddie, Sally, Josh, Callum, Sammy and Adam Stowers
