Bruce McLENNAN Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bruce, a beloved partner, father, and grandfather. Bruce left us peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Rowena Jackson, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on November 13, 1945, he was 78 years old. Bruce was more than just a father; he was a friend, a mentor, and a steadiness in all our lives. His laughter filled his home, and his wisdom shaped our paths. As a devoted parent and friend, he showed us the true meaning of love, always putting his family first. Bruce leaves behind his cherished partner, Lorraine; his beloved sons Neil, Mark, Brent, and Tony; and his treasured stepdaughters Tina and Peti, along with their partners. To his grandchildren - Cameron, Hayden, Holly, Lucy, Abigail, Emma Jane, Samantha, Aaliyah, Hannah, Izak, Courtney, Aoife, Marea, and Nathan - he was a jokester, a supporter, and the coolest grandpa anyone could ask for. His legacy lives on in these beloved grandchildren and his great-grandchildren, who will carry a special piece of his heart. Friend to the mother of his sons the late Yvonne. Cherished son of Gordon* and Elizabeth* McLennan. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Malcolm*, Marion, Irene, Ruth*, David*, Heather*, Ross*, Janet* and Gloria. Uncle to his nieces and nephews We invite all who knew and loved Bruce to join us in celebrating his life on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11.00am, to Nga Hau E Wha Marae, 193 Connon Street, Invercargill. Let's come together to honour the incredible man he was and the legacy he leaves behind. The family would like to thank the staff and management at Rowena Jackson for their love, laughter, friendship, and care of Bruce. In place of flowers, donations to Southland Help can be made at the service, which would be gratefully appreciated.

Rest in peace, Bruce. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I worked with Bruce in a professional capacity over three decades. It was an absolute pleasure. Bruce was 'straight up' as they say and knew how things should be. Bruce achieved more in this area than many because he was so deliberate and consistant. I will miss our meetings and hope that what Bruce leaves with us all helps to relieve some of the sadness those close to him will be feeling. Peter Flannery

Although my time with Mr McLennan was short it was fun. Strong willed, with a fabulous sense of humour you really didn´t know what each new day would bring. Tina and Mark your love and care for Mr McLennan was exceptional and I know how much he appreciated everything you both did to respect his wishes. Thinking of you all at this time Jenny and Nicola
