Our thoughts are with Margaret and the family on the sad passing of Bruce, a lovable, larger than life character. We remember our times with Bruce and Margaret with laughter and joy and never a dull moment. May you rest in peace, Mr Pud.

To Dear Margaret and family,
It is a sad day today, learning of the passing of dear Bruce, or "Pud", as he was most commonly known to us all, right from our very early years.

As I am typing this message, there are many fond, and precious memories, that are flooding into my head, and I can clearly see, and feel. the the good times that Bruce and I shared together over the many years.

I can vividly see Bruce at this very moment, and enjoy the memories, that come from those shared days, of our primary and secondary school years, when we had so much fun together.

Then there were the following years, when we were both junior members of the Pt. Chalmers Marine Brass Band, and as we grew up, we also shared our enjoyment, and participation, in the local sports of tennis, basketball, rugby, and rowing, which became so special to us both, as you will well know.

It has been such a pleasure to have been able to share in dear Bruce's life. Those times are now were very special, and treasured moments.

I will conclude by extending to you all my deepest sympathy, in your time of sorrow . Thinking of you all at this sad time.
From Jack Ellis at Invercargill.
P.S. Today is also my 91st birthday. No wonder I'm having trouble putting these sad words together.
