To the extended family of Brian, please accept my deepest sympathy in the passing of Brian.
We spent a wonderful passage of time with Brian in our shared love of discovering New Zealand. His bus arriving at our appointed stop over was always a joy, many times it was he there prior for that was mostly the way he operated. We lost contact as my late husband's health became an issue. I had tried to make contact but that never seemed to work.
He was a creature of habit and retained a privacy which we respected, although from time to time he would disclose some details that built up a picture as to the man he was. I feel privileged to have known him, his life was truly not lived in vain. From Vietnam, Antarctica, Gunn's Camp in Fiordland, and his last year's at his beloved Tui or Tuatapere as is it's proper place name, he made a mark wherever he hung his hat.
I consider Brian much more than friend, he was family.
