Marie and families,my condolences to all in the loss of Brendan.Had the pleasure of meeting him whilst at NZ Post,a real character, the light in front would darken when Brendan came to counter, being as tall as he was,a smile on his face,a cheeky comment or joke to tell,
always a pleasure to deal with.

My foremost Condolences to the Forde Family in hearing about the recent passing of Brendan. I new Brendan most of his life since the early 80s. Brendan was a close friend for most of my life whilst i was in New Zealand until 15 years ago. Highlights were having Brendan navigate and work on my Jet-Boat racing team in the early 1990s, the highlight being the World Jet Boat Marathon in 1993 which was a load of full on fun. Trips to Queenstown/Glenorchy were regular with boating the marvelous Central Otago rivers. Many adventures and nights out around Southland/Otago including Dunedin (Carisbrook) many times watching the All Blacks and New Zealand Cricket Team take on Australia being highlights. Brendan meet us at the Newfield for New Years eve 2023 for a catch-up being enjoyable. My last conversation with Brendan (over the phone) this year was in April for around 25 mins. He spoke keenly of upcoming auctions and perhaps a trip to visit in Perth in the future which i would have showed him new world class infrastructure since his last visit here when he was much younger. Another highlight i remember clearly was travelling from Christchurch to Wanaka in record time in Brendans BMW to watch Warbirds over Wanaka, Richard (RIP) his younger brother was driving making a thrilling journey getting to the Warbirds safely on time. Brendan due to his stature was always a hit with people from all walks of life, especially the lady's always making great entertainment. Never forget the night we slept outside the Penthouse Nightclub in queenstown 3 of us in Brendans BMW including him, none of us had a great sleep but had a great weekend full of fantastic memories. The night we were in Dunedin at a Nightclub and got out at 5am to go straight for breakfast at our hotel, finding out later that day it burnt down after we left, raised our eyebrows of thought finding out it was an electrical issue. In mid 1980s Barry McColl had a going away auction in Main Street Otautau, Brendan and I duelled in auction against one another to buy a tool chest, eventually Brendan coming over and congratulating me on the win and forming what would be a future friendship for many decades to come. I"m a bit shocked you have left us this early!!!! However we hold in high regard the great memories we shared. Farewell my great friend your at peace. Dave, Fraser, Jimmy .
