Bill SMITH Obituary

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Southland Hospital on Saturday, August 16, 2025, aged 53 years. Dearly loved husband of Rosi. Loved father and father-in-law of Bethany and Regan*, and Lachlan. Stepfather to Jacques, Shannon, and Lorcan. Adored Grandad of Benji, Tui, Layla, and Ronan. Cherished son of Bruce and the late Sharon Smith*. Much-loved brother and brother-in-law of Loren and Craig. A special uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Bill's love, kindness, and humour touched everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Southland. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at St Mary's Basilica, Tyne Street, on Friday at 10.00am, followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery. Messages to 34 Bluff Road, Invercargill, or you are warmly invited to share memories on Bill's tribute page at distinctfunerals.co.nz , where a livestream link to Bill's service can be found.

With a broken heart I sent Bruce Rosi, Loren, Bethany and Lachlan our deepest condolences. Have fondest memories of our time working together at the Northern Tavern many years ago. Enjoyed our last catch ups couple of months ago for lunch and spending the day together... thank you for our friendship forever missed and loved xx
