Beverley ROBINS Obituary

(Owner Operator of Robins General Store, Roseneath)

Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Rosemarie Robins (nee Prentice). Loving father of Gordon (Debora), Carol Ann Wright (Timothy), Douglas (Laura) and Pamela Hawkins. Dear grandfather of Amy, Holly, Sarah, Alyson, Erika, Benjamin, Hannah, Brandon, Steanna and great-grandfather of Kaeden, Khloe, Tyson, Cassius, Clayton, Brantley, Sandra and Rory. Brother of Doris Riley, Donald Robins and Marie Perry. Standing at an astonishing 5'4", Beverley lived in the house he grew up in. He was the face of Robins General Merchant where he never tired of conversation...never...ever. The Store was his happy place; he loved the store and he loved his customers. He knew many of his customer's by name and would always find time to chat. He knew all the back roads of Alnwick Township and all the history of the area. So many people would stop in looking for directions or to find a family member. Beverley closed the store at the beginning of COVID and only because he had to. We all loved him dearly, will miss his humour and candor. A private family service was held on Friday, May 14th at Roseneath United Church. Interment in Centenary Cemetery, Roseneath. If desired donations may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation or Diabetes Canada. The Robins family would like to thank Dr. Sabatini, Dr. Amin and the staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital for their care and compassion. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.

Our fishing trips to Rice Lake always started off the same. Unload, launch the boat, then it was off to Robins for tomatoes, fishing licenses, bait, and an hour or more of Bev's latest funny stories. It's so sad hearing of his passing. I'll always remember his smile and laugh.

Having worked with Bevs' son Gordon, I was privy to the amazing stories about his wit, humour and of course stubbornness. He was much like my dad so I can relate. Bev was well loved and a respected member of the community and will be very much missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace, you have served this world well and deserve this rest. Sincerest condolences to Mrs. Robins and all family members, our family have you in our prayers.
