James INSTONE Obituary

Passed away June 6, 2014, ten years ago on this day.


It's ten years to the day since you left our world,
At the time it was like our lives had unfurled;
A man who was so full of life, love and fun,
Taken so quickly from everyone.
A husband for fifty good years to "our Fran",
A great life of love that few understand;
An artistic father to James and to Sue,
He inspired love of music and of cooking great food.
A poetic grandad who spent quality time,
And weaved his grandkids' lives into his rhyme;
A consummate sculptor whose great love of nature,
He captured in steel as a scrap metal shaper.
Every day we remember you, we hear your laughter,
I think we're still wishing for a "happy ever after",
In our son's giggles we hear your joy,
We see your mischief in our cute little boy.
Your friendliness was known to those around you,
Your humour, your love of life everyone knew;
Your quest to look after friends and strangers,
Just in case you might be entertaining angels.
On this day, Dad, we all remember you most,
We lift our glasses in an age old toast,
With your favourite whiskey, a glass of red wine,
We'll all say together to the heavens divine:

"May the road rise to meet you, the wind be at your back,
The sun shine on your face, the rains fall without lack;
And may God hold you gently in His arms until when
We all gloriously gather to meet you again"
