Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Rowena Jackson, on Monday, January 9, 2023; in his 93rd year. Dearly loved husband of the late Fay (Faisie), much loved father and father-in-law of Jillian and Harold Jennings, Helen and Ray McIlwrick, Vicki and Warren Burns, Neale and Veronica (Perth). Dearly loved Grandad Baz of Louise and Wally, Katherine and Brendon, Christopher and Sarah, Jodi and Tim, Kylie, Melanie, Dean and Kristie, Todd and Ashleigh, Fayanna and Teagan, loved great-grandad of Brittany, Hannah; Oliver, Ahna, and Finn; Remy, Leo and Indy; Ngarea and Jayden and Bubba Aroha; Kowhai, Neihana, and Tamai; Mia, and Vinnie, Orion, and Rayne; Maddie, Makenzi, and Makai. A service to celebrate Basil's life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill, on Saturday, January 14 at 10.00am, the service will conclude with a burial at the Eastern Cemetery.
