Archibald Roger DANIELL

Archibald DANIELL Obituary

On July 10th, 2023, peacefully at Wellington Hospital, Aged 91 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Marilyn. Loved father and father-in-law of Thomas and Ellen, Robert and Yvette, James and Mireia; Much loved Grandad and Opa of Matthew, Luke, Jessica, and Max. Messages to "the Daniell family" may be placed in his tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz or posted C/- PO Box 723, Paraparaumu. Roger's funeral service will be held at Harbour City Funeral Home, 300 Kapiti Road, Paraparaumu, on Friday, July 28th, 2023, at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation.

I am sad that Roger has gone but have to be happy for his long life and company over so many years. I was at Marsden with Marilyn and I think introduced her to Roger When I went to London I lived at 26 Kensington Park Gardens where Roger lived upstairs with Graeme James and David Maxwell-Hide. I had my first evening meal in their room upstairs. That was 1957 so you see we go back a long way. He will be sadly missed in many circles, especially his artistic life which we enjoyed, especially when he retired and they came to live on the Kapiti Coast.
Maurice and I enjoyed many happy occasions with our families especially Maurice with Marilyn on their many ski trips in the South Island and overseas.
My sincere sympathy goes to you boys and your families. I will be there on Friday to farewell Roger with love.
