Ali, you may have been a bit shorter than me, but I was always looking up to you. "Hey chick!" you would say, and an awkward 90s teen felt seen. You had a practical, can-do energy and a great sense of fun. When I picture you from that time, you are capable and in command of things, whether at the car-dealership in Andy Bay Road, or at the wheel of a whale of an Aussie rental in Brisbane.

I can still see you expertly manoeuvring a double cab ute on our steep driveway - when you popped back into my life for a quick hello, bright and happy and so, so proud to introduce your young man Sam.

It was obvious that Sam, Sarah and Rodger were everything to you. Your whole being lit up when you spoke of them.

I´m grateful for the recent precious time I was able to share with you, the brave hugs and the beachwalk at Warrington. While we walked and chatted, I was thinking, why didn´t we do this sooner? And often? It was such a pleasure, now bitter-sweet, to spend that time with you and Rodger.

Despite the months or years between calls or visits, each reunion is a bright light in my memory.

Ali, you were a joyful, thoughtful, fiercely loving soul, who will be very much missed.

Sending love to Sam and Rodger (and wee Maisy dog), and all of Ali´s family and friends, for your very great loss xxxxxxxxx

Ali - I remember all your help/support when Sam was at Gore Main School. You were always the first to put your hand up to help for school camps or any other school activity. You are a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed. Sending love to Sam & Rodger.
