Alexander Reed (Alex):
Peacefully at home, after he ran his last race on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Aged 96 years. Dearly loved husband of Bev. Loved father and father-in-law of Garry and Merrin, Bryan and Bronwyn, and the late Annette. Loved grandad of Alex, Sean, Jack, Harry, and Maggie. A service to celebrate Alex's life will be held in the Southland Crematorium Chapel, Rockdale Rd, Invercargill, on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 11.00am. Very sorry to hear of the sad news that Alex has passed away. Have very fond memories as a young boy of many trips to race tracks around Southland with my parents (Charlie & Doreen)and of visits to Alex and Bev at your house in Winton. A lovely man and gentleman.

Dear Bev, Bryan, Garry and families,
Our sincere condolences of hearing of Alex passing today.
One of natures true and genuine gentleman. A true friend over many years who encouraged me over 55 years ago to pursue my passion of veterinary science.
I am proud to have called him a friend and I always enjoyed our talks during my visits to Invercargill.
We will be thinking of you all especially on the 30th November.
