Alexander McLELLAN Obituary

13.05.1957 - 20.02.2024
66 years young. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mac, taken too soon. Son of Michael* and Winifred*. Cherished brother of Kathleen, Lorraine, Raeleen and Valerie* and extended families. Soulmate of Kim, loving father to Jade and Carolyn, Travis and Gemma, Isaiah and Hannah. Cherished Grandad Mac to Anaru, Jack and Bailey, and favourite son-in-law to Taylor and Glenys Unahi. Forever loved brother, uncle and great-uncle to Tania and Tara, Rob, Emily and Maddi and Tash, Ben, Isla and Connor. Stephen and Lisa, Jason and Danielle, Craig and Jalana, Dwayne and Vicki and Racheal, and extended whanau. Alex touched the lives of so many with his kindness, wisdom and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted family, friends, staff and all the many people he joined into his circle of life. A service to honour and celebrate Mac's remarkable life will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 2.00pm, at the Cross Recreation Centre, Balclutha. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate if donations were made to our local teams at the Clutha Valley, Kaitangata and Balclutha Fire Brigades and Balclutha St John. Kia Kaha my darling Alex, the Totara may have fallen but your seedlings are strong and are doing you proud.

very sorry to hear of the passing of Mac. I knew him years ago when he used to collect the bread from Country Fare. A wonderful man with an awesome sense of humor. My thought are with the family at this sad time

I am so very sorry Kim to hear the devastating news of Alex's passing. Alex was such a decent man, smart, humourous, humble man, and he was so welcoming, kind and big hearted! Over the many years at the NZ Heavy Haulage Association Conferences we were so blessed and so grateful for yours and Alex's help setting up for conference and helping with the registrations right through to Alex carrying out the Auctioneer and/or the Sheriff roles (which he was so good at, such a natural). Alex was a true "Giver" and I was blessed to have met worked with him! Rest in Peace Alex and big hugs Kim! Lisa Lummis
