Alastair McDOWALL Obituary

Peacefully passed away at the Christchurch Hospital on Friday, November 21, 2025, following a short illness. Dearly loved husband of Margaret, loved dad of Jamie and Mandy and loved father-in-law of Kate and Jason. Thank you to the Acute Stroke Unit in Christchurch Hospital. We truly appreciate your empathy, kindness and wonderful care. A memorial service to celebrate the life of the cheeky and stubborn bugger will be held on Friday, November 28, at 2.00pm, in the Gore RSA Function Lounge, 12 Bowler Ave, Gore. Wonderful memories of "Swede" at First Direct Taxis Chch. Always a joker and then there was the one liners, broadcast over the radio telephone for everybody to hear. Lovely genuine man.
