Alan and I were cousins. We grew up together in Epsom where our respective families lived. We were almost the same age and shared many of the same interests. Primary school followed by secondary saw us together often both at school and at play and recreation. These were for massive years for us both, of course, and Alan`s influence on me was significant. I was privileged then to be invited to be best man as his first wedding. Alan had a strong Christian belief which maintained his standards and integrity. He was fun to play with and an influence in my life which I value. I am pleased that he has now found relief from the stresses of his last days. Our thoughts are with Lauris and family members at this time. David and Sandy Carden.
