Arohanui to you Steve, Abby and Hannah. Aileen has been an inspiration, an activator, and a cherished friend to me and my family. I'm so sad at her passing. The world has lost a wonderful human being; someone who really gave a damn and wanted to make a difference. And what a legacy she leaves; for and through her whanau, her friends, her community. I feel so privileged to have met and worked with Aileen, so blessed to have known her as a friend, so thankful for her support in so many, many ways, and so inspired by the measurable difference she made. Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui. Thank you Aileen. You will be remembered always.

Aileen was a participant, not a passenger, a lifter not a leaner, a fellow traveler, not an observer. Her life was too short but what she had, she lived fully.
Condolences and much love to Steve, their daughters and extended family.
