To all Jim's family,
My heart is heavy today as I learned of Jim's passing. I met him on several occasions through deer Advance Party days, deer seminars, and many a social do. He struck me as a chap who you were never left wondering what his opinion was, and could stand up and speak about things he felt strongly about. Not afraid to ask questions, he seems to always ask what others were thinking but were maybe too shy to ask. I will raise a glass to Jim tonight, and my heart goes out to you all,
with love, Lorna Humm

To Jacinta and family
It is with great sadness that we learned of Jim's passing. His contributions to the many deer farming groups he has been part of have been substantial, and many people have benefited from his sound advice and experience. Jim has left an enduring legacy to the industry of his dedication and passion through his involvement in deer health research. Jim will be deeply missed by his friends in the deer industry.
