GRAHAM WEEKS Obituary

GRAHAM GORDON WEEKS September 21, 1931 - November 5, 2023 Born to Frank and Helen Weeks, Graham often shared fond memories of his childhood in Vancouver. He attended McGee High then on to UBC where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce. In 1956 He joined McLeod Young and Weir (Scotia McLeod) and later became a V.P. and Director. He loved the excitement of the investment business and enjoyed a very successful 36 year career moving between the Montreal, New York and Toronto offices. A consummate bachelor, everything changed for Graham after he met the love of his life Judy Hyland, a widow with three young kids and two dogs. He traded his swinging bachelor pad in Montreal, frequent weekends in Stowe Vermont and the Coral Beach Club in Bermuda, for a life of domesticity when he married Judy in 1976. Graham was a big believer in the enjoyment of life. He loved Frank Sinatra, a good restaurant, skiing, tennis and had a complicated relationship with golf. He loved travelling and saw many parts of the world with Judy. He and Judy spent their winters in Naples, Florida and summers at Lake Simcoe. At the cottage he could be found sitting on a chair, overlooking the lake, long legs crossed with a good book, a grandchild or a King Charles Spaniel on his lap. Graham's easy going nature, sense of humour and welcoming personality made him a joy to be around. He was generous with his wisdom, and was always eager to help those in need. Over the last 7 years we have been slowly losing pieces of Graham to dementia but will always remember him for his laughter, adventure, kindness and generosity. Everybody loved Graham. He was a true gentleman. Good bye Mr. Big G. Graham was a loving husband to Judy; wonderful Step-Dad to Tim Hyland (Linda), Tony Hyland (Kelly) Becky Miller (Paul); generous and proud Poppa to Sarah, Max, Ella, Will, Brooke, Joe and Luke. Brother-in-law to Jane Meredith (Michael), David Osler (deceased) (Anne). Cousin to Sally Campbell (Michael McNamara) and Susan Campbell. Thank you to the caring staff at Belmont House especially on the 2nd and 5th floor west. A very special thanks to Silina who cared for Graham with kindness, patience and dedication. We are forever grateful. A private family service will be held. Should you wish to make a donation in Graham's memory please consider the Alzheimers Society of Canada, (Research) Belmont House Seniors' Home or a Charity of Your Choice.

Dearest Judy & Entire Family
Graham was a marvel ! He stepped from committed bachelorhood to heavy duty domesticity, without missing a step. He picked up the Family and did a wonderful job of it. Graham was the definition of a Gentleman. I loved your description of his relationship with golf,-"Complicated". I was there in person to witness that,--a study in frustration . Big G will be missed by us all and we all send you our endless love.
