With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sharon Anita Raymer, age 72 who passed away peacefully in St. Joe's Hospice on Ocotober 19, 2023. Sharon was born in Port Arthur on November 13, 1950, the daughter of Arvi Koski and Vieno Johnson. She was educated locally, graduating from Selkirk High School. She held numerous jobs over the years, however her main focus was taking care of her children and creating a wonderful home for her family. Sharon met Jesse Raymer and they were married on June 9, 1972. Sharon loved music especially Finn and Country music. She taught herself to play a variety of instruments including the accordion by age 7 and then went on to learn the piano and keyboard. Sharon loved all animals, but she especially had a great love for horses. She loved reading books and loved the smell of hard cover books. She loved to dance and sing. She loved it when she and her sister would sing together. She loved her kids and being a mom. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved spending time with them. She had a special name for each of them. She loved history, camping with her kids and mom, PartyLite candles and anything that sparkled whether it was clothes, hair pieces or jewelry. She loved to shine. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and watching movies. Sharon is survived by her husband of 51 years Jesse Raymer. Her children Jody (Keri) and Shelley (Roy). Her grandchildren Miranda (Brent), Dylan, Keerstin, Alyssa and her great grandson Miles. She is also survived by her siblings Ray (Diana), Donnie (Janet), Elaine, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Arvi Koski and Vieno Johnson, her brother Ronnie Johnson, her sister Elvi Holmquist, her nephews David Holmquist, Trevor Holmquist, Derek Koski and Rick Renick. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. More information will follow at a later time.
