I remember Br Campion as a strict but fair man during my time as a boarder at Chanel College. He loved tramping, teaching math and developing the gardens of the St Josephs Hostel.
Br Campion, you have earned your eternal reward as a faithful follower of St Marcellin Champagnat with your example of hard work and faith in God.
Rest in peace.

Brother Campion, Principal of Chanel from its amalgamation with St Brides (Masterton). Our family will always remember Camp who was a regular visitor to our home in Jordan Tce. Over many years since, Camp would come and stay with us when he wished to attend occasions connected with Parish and school. Our friendship with Camp has grown over 40 years. Courageous in the face of debilitating cancer. Uncomplaining and resigned, always retaining a sense of humour. A very humble Marist brother and so very loyal to all things Marist. A man in tune with the great outdoors and relishing in his tramping exploits. Of course we will miss Camp from our earthly lives but he has left many memories with us as a family from his faithful life as a fine Principal and Marist Brother. God bless you Camp, thanks for employing me, for having an input in to the lives of our three sons and for being such a caring and loyal friend to us as a family. Margaret and Kelvin Biggs, Greg, Chris Brendan. May you rest in peace
