Barbara was a wonderful lady with a great sense of humour. She was a very loyal customer when I owned The Green Room Cafe. She was always bringing us flowers from her garden and bought gifts for the staff on their birthdays. She was one of a kind and I will remember her fondly

Sad to hear the death of a nursing icon. I fondly remember we were short staffed one morning on a full women's ward and Mrs Lawlor pitched in and gave us a hand - rather nervous I was as a new graduate nurse to have the matron working along side us. What a shift it was - on Mrs Lawlors command " we will start at the top and work to the bottom of the ward," and that was what we did!. The last patient getting washed as the afternoon staff were coming on. Good time management skills were learnt.
Remembered with respect and a wonderful nursing mentor.
