Was sorry to see that Mary had passed away also Pat, John and Justin. And got me thinking back to our childhood and made me realise how much of a part the Walsh's played in it.

Thinking of Election times and how Mr and Mrs Walsh were always at our place listening to the radio and marking off the Electorates as the votes were counted.

Haymaking, dipping and other farming jobs and how the two families worked together to get these jobs done.

Mrs Walsh always helping Mum in the kitchen baking for morning, lunch, afternoon teas and dinner for the men working. Baking big Christmas cakes, and other baking for Christmas.
Preserving time preserving plums, pears, peaches and apricots. Making Plum sauce and all the other sauces.

Mrs Walsh getting us cracking cleaning up our bedroom and helping Mum.

When Margaret, Pauline and John Michael came to play while staying with Nan and Granddad.

Pat playing cricket with us on the front lawn which was a regular when he came. The day a ball went through the front bedroom window!!

And so it goes on the many many happy memories and much laughter we had with the Walsh Family.

Can remember Mum's sadness when Mary went to Wellington and how Mary always visited us when she came home. How I used to write to her as a child and so the memories go on.

So with the passing of Mary is the end of an era which saddens me.

So my tribute is to Mary and the Walsh Family for the important part they played in our lives and the values we were taught through the wonderful friendship my Mum and Dad and Family had with them all.
